Thermage FLX body applications are very popular and often combined with facial treatments. The treatment has been gaining a lot of popularity and Dr Angelica Kavouni has been featured recently in Top Santé magazine and the StyleNest website (StyleNest interview with Dr Kavouni).
A Thermage FLX™ treatment uses radiofrequency technology (RF) to heat the deeper, collagen-rich layers of the skin dermis up to 42º C . - The applied heat causes collagen to contract and shrink-wrap and encourages new collagen to start growing as the body is healing the tissues. The enhanced collagen production improves the texture, elasticity and supporting matrix of the skin. - Thermage® FLX creates smoother, tighter skin after just one treatment . The results are noticeable as early as the day after and continue to improve as collagen regeneration continues. The benefits can then be expected to last for years.
A treatment typically takes 45 -60 minutes depending on the area. - After marking the area and applying a thin gel the specialist presses a handpiece with a flat tip against the skin to deliver radiofrequency (RF) energy towards the deeper layers of skin. - You will feel a brief cooling sensation at first, the purpose of this cooling effect is to protect the skin from burning when radiofrequency energy is released. This is then followed by a heating sensation once the radiofrequency energy is delivered. The heat is a sign that the energy is penetrating through the deeper layers of the skin. A vibration sensation is integrated with cooling blasts to achieve an exceptional level of patient comfort. - From time to time throughout the procedure you will be asked whether the heat level is tolerable to ensure comfort and safety. It's also much more comfortable because of the new cryogen device.
